Boosting knowledge in climate financing and investments

While finance and investment in climate adaptation are in their embryonic stage, there are several cases across the world that not only are a rich source of knowledge but also a demonstration of successful practice.  This session has thus three objectives: (i) shade light on international adaptation finance cases (ii) explore their barriers and success factors, and (iii) map out areas of research and innovation for the transference of adaptation finance solutions.

 Jointly with the EU Mission projects CLIMATEFIT, SOTERIA, CARDIMED, REGILIENCE and NATALIE, FutureLakes WP 3 Lead SEMIDE is participating in the session “Scaling Innovative Adaptation Finance Solutions: Transference of Financial Structures and Instruments Across European Boarders”.

SEMIDE is hosting a World Café dealing with Payments for Ecosystem Services (PES) as an innovative financing scheme to mainstream NBS and foster a Nature-based economy.

 The World Café format is a structured yet flexible approach to facilitating meaningful conversations in a collaborative setting. It involves small, rotating group discussions (people standing around bar tables), where participants engage in open dialogue on key topics. Participants will be introduced to international cases of adaptation finance and investment and gained a deeper understanding of the success factors and challenges faced in the adoption of innovation adaptation finance solutions.
